Saotome Shihan - Aug 9, 2014

Mitsugi Saotome Shihan taught class at the Dojo on Saturday, August 9th. Aikidoka travel across oceans and from other countries to train with Saotome Shihan! We are extremely fortunate to have Saotome Shihan teach in our dojo and should seize the opportunity to attend all his classes!  We have posted photos from the class on our "gallery" page, please enjoy! Congrats to David on his 5th Kyu promotion!

On Saturday August 2nd, David passed his 5th Kyu examination and has been promoted to his second rank in Aikido! Please be sure to congratulate him on his hard work! Great job, David!

Florida Shihan Seminar 2014

All students are encourage to attend this year's Florida Shihan Seminar hosted by Shindai Aikikai. Not only will two of our instructors being teaching at this event, PeeWee Jones Sensei and Daryl Schrader Sensei, but there will also be a special dedication class taught by the one and only - Mitsugi Saotome Shihan in honor and memorial of Dennis Hooker Shihan. This is a local event NOT to be missed!

Let's not forget that one of our fellow dojo members will being testing for his Nidan (2nd degree black belt)! Make sure to show your support and wish him luck!

Dojo Kyu Testing

There will be Kyu testing at the dojo on Saturday, August 2nd starting at 10 am. All testing candidates must meet the minimum amount of training hours and sign up on the sheet on the dojo bulletin board. Questions? Please refer to any of the instructors in the dojo or to the "Members Info" link at the top of the page to view the ASU Handbook requirements for the rank you will be testing for. There is PDF that you can download and print out. The NEXT scheduled date for testing will be Saturday, December 6th.

Saotome Shihan - Saturday July 26th

This Saturday, July 26th at 10 am, Mitsugi Saotome Shihan will be teaching class! This is an amazing a special opportunity for members of 12th Street Dojo. There is a $20 mat fee for all attendees, including monthly members, and lunch will be provided afterwards. Please bring your own beverages.
