Saturday's Aikido class at the 12th Street Dojo in Sarasota, was dynamic and inspiring. We are very fortunate to have such a talented and skilled martial artist, such as Mitsugi Saotome Shihan, devote his energy and time into our Dojo and students. We are very grateful to Saotome Shihan for this opportunity and the students who help prepare the dojo for his continuous visits!
On Saturday August 2nd, David passed his 5th Kyu examination and has been promoted to his second rank in Aikido! Please be sure to congratulate him on his hard work! Great job, David!
All students are encourage to attend this year's Florida Shihan Seminar hosted by Shindai Aikikai. Not only will two of our instructors being teaching at this event, PeeWee Jones Sensei and Daryl Schrader Sensei, but there will also be a special dedication class taught by the one and only - Mitsugi Saotome Shihan in honor and memorial of Dennis Hooker Shihan. This is a local event NOT to be missed!
Let's not forget that one of our fellow dojo members will being testing for his Nidan (2nd degree black belt)! Make sure to show your support and wish him luck!
This Saturday, July 26th at 10 am, Mitsugi Saotome Shihan will be teaching class! This is an amazing a special opportunity for members of 12th Street Dojo. There is a $20 mat fee for all attendees, including monthly members, and lunch will be provided afterwards. Please bring your own beverages.
