Steven Sensei began training in the D.C. area in 1989 with Weber Sensei, Page Sensei, Okamura Sensei, and of course Saotome Sensei. He also trained for several years at Bond Street Dojo with Paul Kang Sensei, and spent many years in Boulder with Ikeda Sensei and Hofmeister Sensei. He now teaches and trains in San Diego and is chief instructor of Kagami Dojo.
Steven Sensei has told us: “Kagami is Japanese for mirror. It is when we focus on reflection and seeing ourselves in relationship to others that our humanity can grow. I believe Aikido is a profound, communal practice that fosters a deeper understanding of our fellow human beings, challenging us both emotionally and physically within a supportive and interconnected community.”
